Football can wait an extra week, whereas wider 'Quality Family Time' may not!

Good Morning All.

Following advice issued from FAW, League, and SWFA regarding the requirement for FULL team self-isolation following any potential symptoms or cases at training or friendlies and with the recent news of people's ability for visiting families over Christmas, the Management Committee have taken the decision to bring forward our annual festive period closure.

Driven positively by all been permitted from the 23rd December to travel if needed, we have backdated that by 14 days (self-isolation period) and therefore the updated FINAL day for training before Christmas will now be the 8th December.

We firmly believe that it is a decision that needed to be made, for the benefit of all involved with the club. The risks for a whole team to need to self-isolate, with a likely negative knock-on effect for their families and wider network too, was simply a step too far in this unique runup to Christmas.

Let's be fair, 2020 has been a terribly trying time for literally everybody in one way or another, and we envisage that more, than those not, would likely be taking up their ability to either have family visit or going to visit family... we all need a bit of that this year don't we, especially at such a time as Christmas!

With this in mind, we then plan (all being well) to restart the week of the 4th January 2021 and will of course keep you updated as to any possible changes to this, if and when we receive anything but do pencil the 4th into your 2021 calendars on the fridge.

Apologies for the late change and we hope that you all appreciate the reasons behind it, are to ensure Coaches, Players, Team Admins, and other Volunteers to stay safe... where you are able to link up with your loved ones and families over the Christmas period.

Merry Christmas & A Happy New Year
From the BTM United FC Management Committee
